Using Different Film Stocks at an Acadia Styled Shoot
I’m back with another day from the wonderful Acadia Elopement Retreat hosted by @ameliamariephotography.
For this post, I’m going to focus on the different types of film stocks and cameras I used, to give you and idea of how different certain film stocks and colors can be!

These were on the Mamiya 645 Super with Portra 800 film. With the overcast sky, the greens really pop but eh skin tones are still failry normal.

Pentax k100 with Portra 400 I had a 24mm lens on for these, and I love the moodiness of the weather combined with the wide angles. You can see a slight difference in the greens and skin tones compared to the below images, along with more grain and less boken due to the lens choice.

Portra 800 on the Mamiya. I overexposed these shots a bit, but really enjoy how the colors and details rendered in this set of images at the “first look"

All point and shoot with the Kodak Ektar Half Frame and Portra 400. This camera has a fixed apeture of f9 and a shutter speed of 100. Using the flash on an overcast day and inside, along with a higher ISO film really helps this camera do its best work.

Meduim Format Shot on my Mamiya 645 Super. This was Portra 600. I just love the clear colors here and the cake looks SO YUMMY.

This set was all shot on a Pentax K1000 using Portra 400 35mm film. The overcast day made for some gorgeous pops of color and a bit of a moody vibe.

An accidental double exposure on Portra 800, probabaly my favorite shot of the weekend. This was one of those in-between moments where we were warming up the couple and the blanket and hat vibe was just phenomenal!

Pentax k1000 with Portra 400. The difference in the warm tones of the wood here versus the cooler tones in the next slide really highlight the difference between film stocks. The second image above is a purposeful long exposure.

SLIDE FILM. These were shot on the Mamiya with Fuji 100 E-6 Slide Film. I had to go with a super low shutter speed for most of these photos (low light and 100 I and had a couple accidental double exposures but I like the colors and look overall.

Some nightime with the Ektar half frame, same film. Because this is a fixed lens with a fixed shutter speed, just moving the camera while it shoots give some great blur moments.

Pentax K1000 with Portra 400. DIVINE GREENS! SO SHARP!!!

Blurry but such a storytelling moment! The flash didn’t fire on my half frame for this one. I still like it.
All in all, I got a variety of shots and learned what works and what doesn’t on a rainy day shoot like this one!
Of course, none of this would have been possible without the amazing team of vendors who put on this wonderful styled shoot. Thanks SO MUCH to everyone.
